Help, my lawn chair won’t close.

Ever wonder why people warn you to not pray for patience when it is a fruit of the spirit? That advice is remedial at best because it causes us to miss out on character growth because we fear being stretched. Miracles are part of the promise for those who believe that they will do greater things than Jesus did. Sometimes however, that will entail struggling in daily routines or when trying to enjoying oneself, like what happened on this day. I found myself sarcastically singing, “Joy to the World” as my lawn chair wouldn’t close. Yet, I had to muster up the humility and carry it as an obstruction from my hip as people laughed because the silly blond couldn’t shut the thing. But hey, it makes for a humbling story.
