The Covering

The idea to create a quick read from the parent to a child evolved after three years of working with teens through IFS Therapy, who were quieted through control, religion or other persuasions from a role model. In hopes that a light would turn-on inside the adult, I longed to bring illumination to teaching and learning styles within the family of origin that may be hindering the hopes and responses of relational growth. Sometimes all it takes is for us to slow down as adults and remember how we felt as children so we stop the process of pain developing in our kids.

A child can sense. feel and know what is happening around them even though they do not voice it.
When we protect ourselves emotionally, we have parts who protect us from suffering, but also block out the rays of hope that could come from expressing those emotions and being heard.
A protective family is internally created with protective parts that lend to coping strategies when a child does not feel protected emotionally.

This children’s book is a quick read and the foundation for teaching adults how to re-parent their inner child for the sake of accepting and connecting to the ones under their roof.
